The M3 chip is built on TSMC 3nm technology, making it significantly more efficient than the M2 at the same workload. The 14-inch M3 Pro uses a 70 Wh cell — slightly larger than the M2 Pro 69.6 Wh — contributing to up to 18 hours of battery life under Apple test conditions.
The M3 Max 16-inch is a serious workstation laptop with hardware ray tracing, up to 40-core GPU, and up to 128 GB unified memory. At 99.6 Wh, the 16-inch cell is the largest allowed on commercial flights. A new cell at AED 600 restores full runtime on a machine that can otherwise last many years in professional use.
