iPhone 16 Pro Battery Capacity & Battery Life
The iPhone 16 Pro's 3,582 mAh battery is Apple's most efficient yet, here's what the numbers mean in real use, and when to replace it.

iPhone 16 Pro battery specs
- Capacity: 3,582 mAh
- Video playback: Up to 27 hours
- Video streaming: Up to 22 hours
- Audio playback: Up to 85 hours
- Fast charging: 50% in ~30 minutes (20W+ adapter required, not included)
- MagSafe wireless: Up to 25W
- Qi2 wireless: Up to 15W
Compared to the iPhone 15 Pro (3,274 mAh), the 16 Pro is 9% larger, but the bigger gain comes from the A18 Pro chip's improved power efficiency. The real-world uplift is roughly 2–3 extra hours of screen-on time versus its predecessor.
How to check your battery health
Go to Settings → Battery → Battery Health & Charging. Apple considers a battery healthy above 80% maximum capacity. Below 80%, the battery is eligible for replacement and you may notice:
- Noticeably shorter charge duration.
- Unexpected shutdowns at 10–20% reported charge.
- The phone feeling warm during moderate use.
- Performance Management being applied (shown on the same screen).
What drains iPhone 16 Pro battery faster
- ProMotion at 120 Hz: the adaptive display drops to 1 Hz when static, but scrolling and gaming at 120 Hz uses more power than a fixed 60 Hz panel.
- Always-On Display: convenient but adds background battery draw. Disable in Settings → Display & Brightness → Always On if battery life is a priority.
- 5G: 5G mmWave (not common in the UAE) is the biggest drain; sub-6 GHz 5G (standard here) is more moderate. The phone can automatically fall back to LTE when 5G isn't needed.
- Extreme heat: Dubai summers can push ambient temperatures above 40 °C. Leaving the phone in a hot car or direct sun degrades battery faster and can trigger thermal protection shutdowns.
- Background App Refresh: check Settings → General → Background App Refresh and disable for apps that don't need it.

Should you replace or upgrade?
A battery replacement at AED 350 makes sense if:
- The phone is otherwise in good condition (no significant screen or chassis damage).
- You're within 1–2 years of buying it, the rest of the phone has plenty of life left.
- The battery is the only issue, not a failing camera, slow processor, or outdated iOS support.
The iPhone 16 Pro will receive iOS updates until at least 2029–2030. A battery replacement now gives you 3–4 more years of full performance at a fraction of the cost of a new phone.
