Mac Pro Intel no display - MPX GPU or Thunderbolt fault?

If all ports give no output (including HDMI via adapter), the MPX GPU module is the most likely cause. If only one or two ports fail, it may be Thunderbolt. Our diagnostic isolates the fault before any parts are ordered.

Mac Pro M2 Ultra no display - GPU or port fault?

On the M2 Ultra, the GPU is part of the M2 Ultra chip and cannot fail independently. No display on M2 Ultra is almost always a Thunderbolt 4 port, HDMI 2.1 port, or display IC fault.

Can I test with a different display cable to diagnose no display?

Yes, and we recommend it before calling. Try a different Thunderbolt or HDMI cable and a different display. If the problem follows the cable, replace the cable first. If it follows the Mac, bring it in.

How long does Mac Pro no display diagnosis take?

Same day. Cable and monitor isolation takes 15 minutes. Full GPU or port diagnostic takes 1 to 2 hours.

Two completely different causes depending on model. Intel Mac Pro 2019: the MPX GPU module handles all display output. If the module has failed, there is no display regardless of which port or cable you use. We can swap in a known-good module to confirm the fault.

M2 Ultra Mac Pro (2023): the GPU is part of the M2 Ultra chip and cannot fail independently. No display usually means a Thunderbolt 4 port fault, HDMI 2.1 port issue, or display IC problem.

We test with our own verified cable and known-good display first. This rules out cable and monitor faults before any repair is done.
