OLED vs LCD, why the price difference
Apple switched to OLED displays starting with the iPhone X in 2017. OLED panels are thinner, produce deeper blacks, and support ProMotion (120 Hz) on Pro models, but they cost more to source. LCD models (iPhone 6 through XR and 11) are cheaper to repair because the parts are more widely available and less expensive.
On Pro models from iPhone 14 onward, the Dynamic Island cutout and ProMotion refresh require a more complex panel swap, which adds to the repair time and cost slightly.
How long does an iPhone screen repair take?
Most iPhone screen repairs are completed same-day in 45–90 minutes for models iPhone 8 through iPhone 16 Pro Max. Newer flagship models (17 series, iPhone Air) may take slightly longer due to the more involved disassembly. We recommend calling ahead or messaging on WhatsApp to confirm parts availability for your model.
Is it worth repairing or buying new?
For any iPhone from the 12 series onward, a screen repair almost always makes financial sense. A replacement iPhone 15 costs AED 3,299+; a screen repair is AED 750. Even on older models, unless you were already planning to upgrade, repair is the faster and cheaper path back to a working phone.
The only exception is severe water damage or a bent frame that has cracked the logic board, in those cases a full diagnostic will tell you whether a screen replacement alone will hold.
