Is the Air 13 Intel 2020 still worth repairing in 2026?
Be selective - battery yes, big jobs probably no
6 years old, Intel chip, no Apple Silicon performance. A battery replacement is almost always worth it. A screen plus keyboard combined can add up to more than a clean used M1 Air, so weigh it carefully - we'll show you the math at intake. Get a free quote for exact prices on your model.
Our honest take on the Air 13 Intel 2020
The last Intel Air - and famously the slowest. Battery swap is a no-brainer. If you need anything more than that, seriously consider stepping up to a used M1 Air; the performance gap is enormous and the M1 Air costs less to keep running.

- RAM and the SSD are both soldered to the logic board on the MacBook Air 13" Intel 2020, so the original spec is what you keep - neither is upgradeable. - Check System Settings > Battery > Battery Health: "Service Recommended" means the battery is worn, and System Information > Power shows the cycle count. - Switch it off straight away, unplug the USB-C charger and don't try to turn it on or charge it. Corrosion spreads across the logic board while it has power, and the SSD is soldered to that board, so protecting the board is also how your files are saved. Send us the details through the quote form, then bring it straight to our Media City workshop; liquid-damage work carries a 15-day warranty.
- From time to time. Dust is drawn in through the vents and packs into the fan and heatsink, so the fan runs loud and the Mac slows down to keep cool. A fan clean with a thermal check fixes that - get a free quote online for today's price.
