Apple Repair Appointment in Dubai: How to Book, What to Bring, and Your Other Options
An Apple Store repair starts with a Genius Bar booking, and a little preparation saves a wasted trip. Here is how the official route works in Dubai, when it is the right choice, and when it isn't.

First, so there is no confusion: we are an independent Apple repair workshop in Dubai Media City. We are not Apple, not an Apple Store and not an Apple Authorised Service Provider. This guide explains Apple's own booking process as Apple publishes it, and where we fit when that route doesn't suit you.
Key takeaways
- Book in the Apple Support app or on Apple's Get Support site. Apple recommends a reservation but also accepts walk-ins when a technician is free.
- Dubai stores: The Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates. Abu Dhabi has Yas Mall and The Galleria Al Maryah Island, and Al Ain has Al Jimi Mall.
- Diagnosis: Apple says Genius Bar inspection and diagnostic tests are free; you get a cost and turnaround estimate if a repair is needed.
- Prepare: back up, bring ID and accessories, and turn on Ready for Repair (iOS 27 and macOS 27) or turn off Find My (older versions).
- Use Apple for anything under warranty, AppleCare+ or a repair programme. Out of warranty, an independent workshop is a genuine alternative.
How do I book an Apple repair appointment in Dubai?
- Open the Apple Support app (free on the App Store) and sign in with the Apple Account the device is registered to. On a computer, go to Apple's Get Support site at getsupport.apple.com.
- Choose the device and describe the problem: screen, battery, charging, liquid and so on.
- Pick the option to bring it in for repair, then choose an Apple Store or an Apple Authorised Service Provider near you and a time that suits you.
- Manage it in the app: Apple says you can change or cancel the Genius Bar reservation there.
Apple's UAE Genius Bar page recommends reserving ahead, but also says you can drop by your nearest Apple Store and a technician will help if one is available. Depending on the product and the fault, the Get Support flow may also offer mail-in repair or a phone or chat session first, which is worth trying for software problems.
Where are the Apple Stores in Dubai and the UAE?
Apple's UAE store list showed five stores when we checked on 26 September 2026:
| Apple Store | Emirate |
|---|---|
| The Dubai Mall (Downtown Dubai) | Dubai |
| Mall of the Emirates (Al Barsha) | Dubai |
| Yas Mall (Yas Island) | Abu Dhabi |
| The Galleria Al Maryah Island | Abu Dhabi |
| Al Jimi Mall | Al Ain |
People searching for an "Apple service center in Dubai" usually mean one of these stores. Apple also works with Apple Authorised Service Providers, independent businesses Apple has approved to carry out its repairs; the booking flow shows the ones near you. Our Apple service center Dubai page explains the difference between Apple, an authorised provider and an independent workshop like ours.
Is an Apple Store diagnosis free?
Yes, according to Apple. The UAE Genius Bar page says the technician will inspect your product and run the diagnostic tests needed to find the issue at no charge. If a repair is needed, they give you an estimated turnaround time and the cost, which depends on whether the device is under Apple's warranty or AppleCare+. You decide whether to go ahead.
What should I bring to my Apple Store repair appointment?
- The device and its relevant accessories, including the power adapter and cable for a Mac or iPad.
- Proof of purchase if you have it, especially if you think the fault is covered.
- Photo ID: Apple asks for a government-issued ID such as a passport or driving licence.
- Your Apple Account details, so you can sign in or confirm changes yourself. Apple's own advice is never to share your Apple Account password or device passcode with anyone.
How do I prepare my iPhone, iPad or Mac for an Apple repair?
Apple's checklist for preparing an iPhone or iPad for service comes down to these steps:
- Back up to iCloud or a computer, and wait until iCloud has finished syncing. Apple says a device may be erased during service.
- Turn off Apple Cash and remove your cards and passes from Apple Wallet.
- Find My: on iOS 27, iPadOS 27 or macOS 27, turn on Ready for Repair instead of switching Find My off. In the Find My app, select the device, open Repair or Trade In and tap Enable. Find My stays on for the whole repair. On iOS 26, macOS 26 or earlier, turn Find My off. If the device won't let you, remove it at icloud.com/find from another device.
- Update the software if the device still works well enough.
A Mac follows the same logic: back up with Time Machine or copy your files, then turn on Ready for Repair or turn off Find My Mac. If the Mac won't start and the data matters, say so before any repair is booked. Our data recovery guide for a broken MacBook explains what can be saved first.
When is Apple the better choice?
Go to Apple first, and we will tell you the same if you message us, when:
- The device is under Apple's one-year limited warranty and the fault is a defect rather than accidental damage.
- You have AppleCare+. Accidental damage is covered for a set service fee, and an iPhone battery below 80% is replaced at no extra charge.
- The fault matches an Apple repair programme. These cover known issues on specific models, often beyond the normal warranty. See Apple repair programmes in Dubai for the current list.
- It is a brand-new model and you want Apple's own parts on it while it is still covered.
There is also a practical reason. Apple's warranty doesn't cover damage caused by service from anyone other than Apple or an authorised provider. While a device is covered, don't let an independent shop open it, including us. MacBook owners with AppleCare can read AppleCare MacBook repair in Dubai for how that route works.
When does an independent workshop make more sense?
- Out of warranty with no AppleCare+: the whole repair is paid for either way, so compare quotes.
- You can't find a slot that suits you: no appointment is needed at our workshop. Walk in Monday to Saturday, 9 am - 7 pm, or WhatsApp a photo first and we'll quote before you come over.
- Your data matters more than the device: Apple warns a device may be erased during service. We repair without wiping wherever the fault allows, and say upfront when a job puts data at risk.
- Board-level faults: we repair logic boards at component level where possible, rather than only swapping whole assemblies.
- Older devices: Apple stops all hardware service on products it classes as obsolete, more than seven years after it stopped selling them. Mac laptops can still get battery-only service for up to ten years, subject to parts. Independent workshops keep repairing these machines.
With us, diagnosis is free, you get a written quote before any work, and we tell you whether a part is genuine Apple or quality-tested before fitting it. Repairs carry a written warranty of up to 12 months, depending on the repair. If nothing can be fixed, you don't pay. More on how we work is on our Apple repair in Dubai page.
Apple Store or independent workshop: which first?
| Your situation | Best first stop |
|---|---|
| Under Apple's one-year warranty, not accidental damage | Apple Store or authorised provider |
| AppleCare+ active | Apple Store or authorised provider |
| Fault listed in an Apple repair programme | Apple |
| Out of warranty, no AppleCare+ | Compare Apple's quote with an independent one |
| Data you can't lose, device won't start | Data recovery first, then repair |
| Obsolete model Apple no longer services | Independent workshop |
Not sure which applies? WhatsApp us on 055 741 3706 with your device, its age and the problem. If Apple is the better route, we will say so. If it isn't, we will give you a written quote and you can walk in to Concord Tower in Dubai Media City without an appointment. For the cost side, see our AppleCare vs independent repair comparison.
Frequently asked questions
- Yes, but it isn't guaranteed. Apple's UAE Genius Bar page recommends booking ahead and says walk-in customers are helped if a technician is available. For a repair, book a reservation in the Apple Support app so the store expects you. Independent workshops, including ours, don't need an appointment.
- Use the Apple Support app or getsupport.apple.com. Choose your device and the problem, pick the option to bring it in for repair, then select The Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates, an Abu Dhabi or Al Ain store, or an authorised provider, and a time. You can change or cancel it in the app.
- On iOS 26, macOS 26 or earlier, yes: Apple asks you to turn Find My off. On iOS 27 and macOS 27, turn on Ready for Repair in the Find My app instead, which keeps the device secure and findable in Find My during the repair. If the device is dead, remove it at icloud.com/find.
- It can. Apple's preparation guide says your device may be erased and asks you to back up first, then restore from iCloud or set it up again afterwards. Back up before the appointment. If the phone can't be backed up and the data matters, ask about data recovery before agreeing to a repair.
- It can void coverage for the part that was worked on: Apple's warranty excludes damage caused by service from anyone other than Apple or an authorised provider. That's why we refer you to Apple for in-warranty and AppleCare+ devices. Once coverage has ended, there is no warranty left to lose.
