Expected price tier (flagship, ultra-premium)
Multiple sources agree the iPhone Fold will sit at the very top of Apple's line-up. UAE retail typically runs slightly above the US launch price once VAT and distributor margin are added, and the three tiers are expected to be:
- iPhone Fold 256GB (base)
- iPhone Fold 512GB (mid)
- iPhone Fold 1TB (top)
That would make it Apple's most expensive iPhone ever, above the iPhone 17 Pro Max 1TB, and still positioned below the top-storage Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7. Display tech (zero-crease claimed)
Apple has reportedly worked with Samsung Display on a custom panel using a thicker UTG (Ultra-Thin Glass) layer with a re-engineered metal plate beneath, allowing a wider hinge radius (4.5mm vs 3.0mm on Galaxy Fold 7). The "near-zero crease" claim - sourced from a leaked Apple internal briefing - is still unverified by hands-on reviewers. Skepticism is warranted: every foldable launched 2019-2025 has had a visible crease.
Camera setup expected
Dual rear cameras (48 MP main + 12 MP ultrawide), no telephoto. This is the biggest tradeoff vs iPhone 17 Pro Max - no 5× zoom, no LiDAR sensor, smaller image sensor. The hinge mechanism simply doesn't leave room for the camera bump of a Pro Max. Front-facing: 12 MP under-display camera (rumored, not confirmed).
Battery life implications
Split-cell ~4,800 mAh battery is similar to iPhone 17 Pro Max (4,685 mAh), but the larger 7.8-inch internal display will draw 30-40% more power when open. Expect ~14 hours mixed use - comparable to iPhone 14, well below 17 Pro Max's 19 hours.

Wait for the iPhone Fold if: you genuinely want a tablet-in-pocket form factor, you'll baby it, you can absorb a 5-8% chance of warranty hassle in year 1, and you're OK skipping the 5× zoom.
