What makes the Intel Air screen different
The Intel MacBook Air 13-inch (2018–2020) uses an IPS LCD panel at 2560x1600 resolution and 400 nits — not OLED, not Liquid Retina. This is important for the repair: IPS LCD panels are well-stocked and repair turnaround is same-day in most cases.
The backlight circuit is a separate component from the LCD panel on Intel models. This means a completely dark screen — where you can still see the image dimly under a torch — is often a backlight IC failure, not a panel failure. Backlight repair costs AED 300 to 400, significantly less than a full panel.
Intel Air models from 2018 use a sealed glass-bonded design. The glass cannot be separated from the LCD for a glass-only repair. Full panel replacement is required for cracked screens.
