Why iPhone back glass repair is hard
From the iPhone 8 onward, every iPhone has a rear glass panel for wireless charging. Apple bonds that glass to the aluminium or titanium chassis with an industrial-strength adhesive that's stronger than the glass itself. When the back cracks, you cannot just peel it off - you'd warp the frame and rip the MagSafe coil out with it. Apple's official answer to a cracked back glass is to swap the entire housing: the chassis, all the buttons, the SIM tray, the charging coil, the bottom-firing speaker. That's why the Apple Store quote is so high.
Laser separation method explained
We use a 1064nm fibre laser tuned to vaporise the adhesive layer between the glass and the chassis without heating the metal frame or the wireless charging coil sitting one millimetre below. The laser scans the perimeter and the inner pattern, the glass lifts off in seconds, the residual adhesive is cleaned with a controlled-temperature chemical bath, and we bond a new colour-matched glass with the same factory adhesive spec. The whole job runs about 90 minutes at the bench plus 4 hours of cure time.

MagSafe coil preservation - why it matters
The MagSafe charging system is a circular coil and a ring of magnets bonded to the inside of the back glass on every iPhone from 12 onward. Cheap repair shops sometimes tear the coil with the glass and don't replace it - you get the phone back, and a month later you discover MagSafe charging doesn't work and your wallet doesn't snap on. We laser-separate without contacting the coil and re-bond it to the new glass with the original Apple-spec adhesive ring. We also test wireless charging at 7.5W and 15W before you collect the phone.
Wireless charging integrity after repair
We measure three things post-install: Qi charging at 7.5W (any wireless pad), MagSafe at 15W (Apple MagSafe puck), and inductive efficiency at the centre and edges of the coil. Spec is at least 90% of factory efficiency on a clean MagSafe pair. If we see anything below that, we redo the bond before handing the phone back.
