One real AppleCare+ benefit: free battery service when health drops below 80%. Apple uses genuine OEM batteries with full Battery Health metrics intact. If you keep the iPhone past year 2, Apple's free battery service through AppleCare+ effectively pays for half the plan. But year-3+ users tend to be the same people who don't break things - so they don't use the accident credits.
Theft & loss option (UAE limited)
AppleCare+ with Theft & Loss is the only way to get insurance against actual stolen / lost iPhones in the UAE. Standard UAE home insurance policies usually exclude phones unless you add a specific gadget rider. Conditions:
- Find My must be on at the time of theft.
- You must file a police report within 30 days (UAE Police, app or 901).
- Maximum 2 theft / loss claims per 12-month period, AED 549 deductible each.
- Apple ships a replacement iPhone (refurbished, same model) usually within 3-7 days in UAE.
